the spare time that people around the world have to get involved in activiites - 1 trillion hours/year.
how do we tap into the civic side of this; the interest people have in creating and getting involved in things that will benefit all of society. communal benefit - pictures of cute cats. Civic - an open source code (eg Ushahidi) that can crisis map information for audiences anywhere on earth. eg; Haitian earthquake; Mexican elections, Washington DC snow....
if we want to change the world, there IS an audience and willingenss: we just need to ask for it and choose a relavent topic.
